Best Coffee Grinders Under $100

Not everyone can afford a high-end coffee grinder, but a cheap price doesn’t necessarily mean that the machine is not good, in fact, the most sold coffee grinders, while most of them are Amazon’s Choice, are the best on the market, while for this article, I’ve compiled a list of 5 where you’ll be able to find the one that meets your requirements the most.

There are a couple of things that you’ll need to consider before purchasing a coffee grinder, and I’m going to mention all of them, starting with size which is something essential because most coffee grinders tend to come at larger sizes, while most of them come in more compact sizes, so depending on where you want to put it and how much space you have, that’s how you’re going to choose your coffee grinder.

Due to the fact that there are so many grinders on the market, I understand it can be hard to find the one you’re looking for, which is why I’ve tried to include products ranging from 30 up to $100, while they also vary by size, design, and features.

Other than that, if you’re someone who prefers the coffee freshly ground, a burr grinder will do the job perfectly for you.

If you’re wondering there are also some differences between the blade and blurr coffee grinders, so before we start with the reviews, let’s point out some interesting facts about blade and burr grinders.

The Top 5 Best Coffee Grinders Under $100

5. Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme

The Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme has a decent build quality, and for its price, it lasts longer than most other rivals out there at this price range, however, it’s still not going to give you that expensive feeling due to its plastic parts.

But the plastic parts aren’t really what counts, this particular model has a stainless steel finish which makes the product look really well-made and professional, and as for the design, the manufacturer has kept it simple with implementing a classic grinder design.

In addition, the Cuisinart Supreme features a large hopper and grind chamber which means that you can put larger amounts of beans to be ground at once, which saves you the time and effort of doing it every now and then.

When it comes to the machine’s operation, the Supreme features rather an easy-to-use operation with a single button and a dial that determines coarseness.

Anyhow, don’t get your hopes too high, there aren’t really any fancy features of some sort, and you won’t really misuse the grinder in any way possible.

What’s even better, you won’t have to do much maintenance when it comes to cleaning, it is fairly easy since it has a removable bean hopper and grinds chamber.

But that’s not all, since the grinder also consists of a cleaning brush, which is sometimes very useful, but it isn’t really quite different from using a toothbrush, while on the other hand, the manufacturer reports that the grinding chamber is able to hold up to 32 cups of coffee, but if you ask me, that all depends on the brewing method.

However, I told you guys I’ve done some research about this product, and from customer reviews that I’ve read across the internet, users were reporting that the DMB-8 coffee grinder is not as precise as an experienced coffee snob would want out of a grinder mostly because of the inferior block burr set.

Apart from that, I also read that this machine doesn’t quite let you customize the coarseness of your grounds with different brewing methods, it just can’t handle that, while for experimenting, you also won’t get any chances.

But of course, you’re always welcome to do the research yourself, because, from my experience, I don’t quite find these statements to be true, in fact, for its price, the grinder offers a lot, while when it comes to its operation, this particular machine works quietly and it has a similar loudness to those high-end coffee grinders.

Nonetheless, I would recommend this machine if you’re willing to use it for a shorter period of time, because it might last you long in terms of body and construction, but in terms of performance, it loses its abilities over time, so if you’re looking for a longterm coffee grinder, then this is probably not the best choice you can find.

4. Epare EPKA04

The Epare EPKA04 is a budget-friendly fifteen-setting manual coffee bean grinder that has been and it is still a popular option among coffee lovers all over the world. It’s very practical and it’s small and compact size makes it preferable for those that are trying to save as much space as they can in their kitchens, while in the same time, it’s the ideal choice for traveler sand campers who intend to take this machine with them anywhere they go, and it’s not weird at all I mean I’m a coffee addict as well, so don’t worry if someone judges you.

More on that, I really like what the manufacturer has done with the machine’s construction, basically, from all the research that I’ve made, I’ve seen customers be satisfied with the overall build quality of the grinder, while the stainless steel construction with a glass base delivers a more expensive and premium feel to the overall appearance of the unit.

Unlike some other budget grinders out there, the Epare has perfect precision, it comes with 15 settings just as we mentioned which means that you can set a specific grind for your favorite style of brew.

This is great news because this budget-friendly grinder is able to deliver grind levels that can be compared to expensive electric coffee grinder machines, while it can accommodate preparation styles for Espresso, AeroPress, Pour Over, Chemex, Cold Brew, and French Press.

In addition, the gears of this machine grind smoothly which makes the device easy to use for an extended period of time, while the ergonomic design that we mentioned allows it to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand, and all you need to do is alternatively place the base on the counter and gripping pad will make the grinder effortlessly stay in place.

Moreover, it has an easy to load hopper which can hold up to 60grames of fresh coffee beans, and all you need to do is remove the magnetic handle, pop off the lid, and load with ease. Afterward, the grounds conveniently catch in the glass base.

Furthermore, to make it more preferable, the hopper makes sure to feed the coffee beans down into the 40mm grinder for a consistent grind.

In terms of maintenance, to clean this coffee grinder all you need to do is to unscrew the bolt on the bottom of the grinder and rinse under warm water, and you’ll be good to go.

To conclude, if you are looking for a reliable budget-friendly coffee grinder that is portable, versatile and it comes with lots of settings, then the Epare Manual Coffee Grinder would be your best pick.

3. KRUPS GX5000

Mid-way today, we have the KRUPS GX5000, this one is also pretty affordable, but that doesn’t really matter since the KRUPS GX5000 is a highly-reviewed and highly-rated coffee grinder on Amazon, and if you do your research, you’re going to notice that almost 90% of the customers are satisfied with this product, and I’ll be showing you why.

For those that really care about brand history, KRUPS dates back decades ago and it is actually a well-known brand delivering quality products with bold design, precision, ingenuity and unwavering craftsmanship with the unique philosophy of the leading brand Robert KRUPS.

Therefore, this particular model grinds with passion, precision, and perfection, it grinds whole coffee beans quickly and efficiently, while from my experience, I’ve only had good results with this one, it provides a rich aroma and full-bodied flavor for better-tasting coffee. Having a compact and sleek design, this KRUPS GX5000 coffee grinder makes a convenient and useful addition to any kitchen.

It does a metallic burr for perfect grinding results, but what I like most is the burr mill system which prevents the machine from overheating, preserves aroma and has a grind fineness selector for precise grinding operations.

For more convenience, with this coffee grinder, you get 9 grind levels starting from fine espresso to coarse French Press to perfectly grind every type of coffee beverage.

Furthermore, the KRUPS GX5000 features an 8oz Clean bean container, a quantity selector from 2 to 12 cups to grind the exact quantity you need. On the other hand, for safety reasons, if the bean container and/or the lid is not properly in place to active the micro switches, the espresso grinder will not operate, and that’s great because not many other competitors at this price range can do that.

Moreover, you can also adjust the fineness level for any type of coffee through 9 main grind settings with 5 intermediary steps each The cup selector lets you choose between 2 to 12 cups, while the auto-stop function provides full control and safety convenient features complete the package, to be more specific, the package includes a 15 oz container, a removable top burr for effortless cleaning, and a large capacity 7 oz clear coffee bean container.

Overall, the KRUPS GX5000 may be a bit older than the other recently released coffee grinders out there, but it still sits on top of the chain and the affordable price is not the only reason for that, but it has a decent performance and operation, while its design and aesthetics add some extra points to the overall quality of the machine. In other words, if you are looking for something similar, I highly suggest you take the KRUPS GX5000 into serious consideration, and if you ever decide to purchase it, I assure you that you won’t regret your decision because you simply can’t go wrong with it.

2. Capresso 560.01 Infinity

The Capresso Infinity is one of my favorite grinders out there, it is the best upgrade you can get from an electric blade grinder. As we all know, electric grinders are known for overheating the beans, and often times not providing consistency, but that’s not the case here, the burr grinder works accurately and it tends to provide full control over your grinds.

But considering that it is under $100, of course, it’s not perfect and it has its own downsides, but not as much to make you be disappointed with the machine.

In terms of construction, this particular model is built like a tank, while the manufacturer made this machine with functionality in mind, which is why they made the body plastic to be more light, but don’t worry it’s not that kind of plastic that breaks, it’s hardened plastic and it gives a great look to the overall appearance of the grinder. In fact, the Capresso Infinity comes in 3 different versions from which you can choose from, black which we are currently reviewing, stainless, stainless finish, but no matter what you choose, take in mind that all of them perform equally.

To continue, the grinder features an 8.8-ounce hopper which is very compact and it doesn’t stick out, which is a common problem with most other coffee grinders out there.

In terms of usage, this particular model has a pretty easy-to-use operation since it comes with very basic functions, but it’s great that it has 16 grind size settings, which is more than enough for a starter and a budget-friendly home grinder. Apart from that, you’ll be surprised to know that it features a timer switch with some reference numbers, however, when it comes to cleaning the machine, it is a bit harder than you’d ex[ect because the grounded coffee tends to go into crevices due to the static, so a layer of anti-static coating would have made cleaning the grinder very easy.

All and all, considering the fact that this is an entry-level grinder, it is incredible in terms of performance as well as design and construction, so for those novice baristas that want to make richer and smoother pour-overs, this would be a great addition.

For more convenience, it’s also important to note that the Infinity has a yielded mediocre espresso with a pressurized portafilter, however, it doesn’t really deliver good results with a naked portafilter, while for Turkish coffee, it also couldn’t reach the powder-fine size that it is needed, while this was something that the manufacturer reported that the machine can do perfectly, I guess that was a lie.

Moreover, the grinder works very quietly, surprisingly enough, people that are more than 10 meters far can’t hear anything when the grinder operates, while in spot, it doesn’t really annoy you and it has an average loudness.

To sum up, for its price, the Capresso Infinity delivers great value for money, it has a very consistent grind for a burr grinder, while with its various brewing methods it can provide you with some serious kinds of roasts without losing flavor or taste.

1. Ariete -Delonghi Electric Coffee Grinder

The Ariete Delonghi Electric Coffee Grinder comes at a fixed price of $100, it is a highly reliable machine that packs great durability, versatility, and portability. More precisely, this professional coffee grinder comes with 15 different settings for grind fineness and coarseness, while that’s not the only thing that you get in return, it also comes with adjustable cup size choices.

There is really a lot to talk about this grinder, it has a removable bean hopper which can be removed even when it’s full of beans.

As you may know, De’Longhi is a world-famous coffee machine manufacturer which is especially known for its Artisan Series espresso machines, it has a way of implementing unique designs to its products without sacrificing quality or performance.

This particular model delivers an ultra-fine grind with a heavy-duty conical burr disc which enables the machine for ultra-fine grind and it is suitable for Turkish coffee, unlike our last product, this unit also has a quiet operation and it has a bean hopper which can hold up to 13.33oz/378grams of coffee beans, and a ground coffee container that can hold up to 6.5oz/194 grams of ground coffee.

In addition, the sleek design will complement any decor and save lots of counter space, measuring 14″high, 9″ deep, 5″ wide.

For more convenience, the Ariete Delonghi has an automatic locking bean hopper that can be removed with beans inside without spilling useful stuff.

The Ariete Delonghi is also pretty easy to use, with the 15 grind settings you can customize the grind for your percolator, urn, or French Press, drip coffee, or espresso machine, with the simple push of a button.

Moreover, after you get all through that and you choose the coffee grind size, you can use the User Manual Guide to set the time dial according to the grind size and coffee cups you want, apart from that, you will also find a useful table sheet with clean information that can help you choose the right timing, and what’s more convenient is that the Delonghi Ariete is ETL certified, which means you can be confident that you’re receiving safe, efficient, high-quality appliances.

Simply put, if you’re looking for the best grinder under $100, the Ariete Delonghi is more than enough. It can even surpass some other above priced products due to its high versatility and exceptionally good performance, it is my favorite coffee grinder so far, and I really think you should take this one into serious consideration.

Blade vs Burr Coffee Grinders

First, blade grinders are often called by another name, spice grinders, while to get in detail, the beans get aggressively chopped in the top chamber, and how long you hold the button down will determine the grind size, so when you think about it, it’s not very exact.

Second, when it comes to burr grinders, they are also called by another name, well, for the most part, I’ve seen reviewers call them burr mills. Different from a blade grinder, with this specific machine, the beans do not enter and exit from the same chamber. Burr grinders use two revolving abrasive surfaces to reduce the size of the coffee bean as they pass.

Other than that, afterward, depending on how far apart the surfaces get, that’s how the sizes get determined. Once the beans enter the burr, they are ground and they take their proper size and then grounds exit the grinder.

All and all, all of these coffee grinders would be great for you, they all come at affordable prices, and they all share similar performance, well except for our last product, it is a tad ahead from all the other grinders that we’ve listed.

Now, as we got our introduction and our reviews out of the way, make sure you also read the Blade vs Burr Coffee Grinder guideline which will show you the difference between these two types of grinders, and by now, I also think you have enough facts and arguments to support your decision, so no matter what you choose, you’re still going to end up with a reliable grinder.

I truly hope this article was helpful to you, and if you have any questions regarding this topic, make sure you contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
